VASES AND POMEGRANATES - 1

More blue and white vases!  This time I've added pomegranates.

Whites miskited and some colors added to very wet paper.

Light wash of color onto fruit and fabric.
Colors starting to be slowly glazed.

VASE AND TEAPOT - FINAL

As you can see, I darkened the background on the right and tried to make it look like a lace curtain on the left behind the vases.  Shadows were darkened here and there.

I think it's finished, but have no name!

VASE AND TEAPOT - 4

Not really sure where I was going with that background - yikes.  Going to take some thought on that!  In the meantime, the patterns have been painted on the objects.

A little more shadowing on the sides of the objects and cloth.

VASE AND TEAPOT - 3

More shadows on the objects to give more dimension to them.

Painting more of the darker patterns.

VASE AND TEAPOT - 2

Apparently I did not take a photo of the drawing itself, but here is the start of the painting.

I painted some cobalt blue across the fabric to give it dimension, then began painting in the fabric colors.

Then I put some light shading on and around the vase and teapot.

VASE AND TEAPOT - 1

In between painting walls and ceilings (!) I did manage to get some "fine art" painting squeezed in.

For years I have been collecting objects, fabric and decorative paper as inspiration for paintings.  Since I really like to do these simple still lifes, I decided to go "back to my roots" so to speak and try doing a few more of these.

Here is the set up for this painting.

Then I got a close up of the teapot and vase for more detail.
