BABY HATS

Well, as you can see, I have spent more time crocheting baby hats!

All of these will be delivered to the local hospital maternity ward.  Hopefully someone will want to plop one on their baby's head and take it home!!!   (The hat, I mean.  Of course they will want to take home the baby!!!  Haha.)

They need to be packaged separately, so they will all be "packaged" in a sandwich bag, as the top one is here.  I will add a sticker with care instructions to the outside.

I debated whether I should add the button decorations, but they look cute, and the parents can always remove them if they decide they don't like them.

Now my daughter wants a hat, too!  It just won't be this small!

Here is another Thunderbird painting.  Drawn and miskit applied.

The foreground paint applied in the same way as the previous painting - splotchy and spattered!
A light blue applied to the "chrome".

THE AFGHAN

My friend is going to have her first grandchild in March and I crocheted an afghan for the baby. There was enough yarn left over to create some little hats, too.

This was so much fun!  I've been in a painting slump, and this creative endeavor really filled me with happiness!

THURSDAY W I P

During our art retreat this year, one evening a friend of one of the artists came by to say hello.  He and his wife drove up in a vintage Thunderbird!  (I forget the year).  Of course, this was a "photo op"!

Of the many pictures I took, so far I've begun two paintings.  Not sure how they will ultimately turn out, but they are fun to paint!

Here is the beginning of one.  Drawn out and miskit applied.

Some foreground paint applied - a bit of miskit spattered, color "blobbed" on.

A second layer of foreground colors applied.

Once the poured painting was completed, we then did a direct painting of the same scene.  Below you will see both paintings (again, not completely finished, but close enough).

Compare the two and see which you like best!
