Some time ago I had painted a series of old cars and I decided to look back at them to compare to this old Chev, to see if I felt that progress has been made.
So, for the swan song of this painting, here is another old rusty Chev that was done some years ago for comparison to the new Chev.
I’m not really sure that I’ve made any painting progess – I still like the old one!
What do you think?

Both are wonderful in their own right. I mean, I just love the old torn ceiling cloth in the old one. It's the special touch that makes it look even older. Not sure I would have thought of that.
I must admit, Deb, I like the older painting, too.
Not a fair comparison, Deb. You'll have to compare rusty car with rusty car. I like both of these :)
old is gold...
but it is the style you adopt which makes the difference. and i think it is deliberately done...
amazing pictures...
All of them.. that's what I like, Your new work is so much more detailed, so it depends on whether the viewer likes the looser style and I DO .! BJ
Carol - there is just something about old rusty and dilapidated stuff!
Kathryn - the old one was like my grandfather had, so I'm partial!
Thanks Rhonda.
Thanks Joy and Barbra - this will be a do-over some day!
Great work!
Thanks Debra, I enjoyed your sketches!
I like them both, but they are different. Just let us enjoy them!!!!
I love them both!
Thanks Kimberly and Christiane!
Don't be second guessing yourself Deb. Your work is terrific and that rust is just beautiful!
