LEGENDS

Thanks to those of you who are sticking around to see when my next post will be coming. (So much for my resolution to post twice a week!)  At long last – here it is – hope you enjoy it!

Here is a recently completed watercolor based on a photo taken at a good friend’s house. She has little collections dotted throughout her house – which is always so warm and inviting, just like her and her husband. (She didn’t even know that I had moved her things around to take the photo, so she was surprised when I showed it to her).

Painting the seat caning was sooooo much fun! Had a little trouble with the sand dollars – almost got them too dark, but I managed to get the colors almost dead on for the pottery, though!

The painting title derives from the “Legend of the Sand Dollar”.

This one is watercolor on a half sheet, Arches 300#

You deliberately placed the pottery on the caning so you could paint the caning...really?! You amaze me with your detailed painting style. This is incredible!

Deb, whenever I see one of your pieces that reminds me of Zentangle, I forward the link to Peg (Margaret Ann) since she does such detailed Zentangle. When I sent the tea cup one to her, she was totally blown away, as she said above. At our watercolor group Thursday, she and I were discussing this and one of the gals had an iPad and brought it up for all to see. Needless to say, the entire room was amazed and in awe of this painting, especially the caning on the chair.

Deb, the reaction to this painting with my painting group was universal...amazement! Yes, we do have a fun group. Despite all the teasing, laughing and high spirits we actually do some painting while there, too!
