THE ARTIST'S MAGAZINE COMPETITION

Just found out that two of my paintings - Yin Yang Mums (watercolor) and Oriental Roses (fluid acrylic) have been accepted into The Artist's Magazine 31st Annual Art Competition as finalists in the Still Life/Interior category.

There were 7,500 competition entries - and they chose TWO of mine!  WOW!!!

So, my name will appear in the list of finalists in the December 2014 issue - no picture, though, since I didn't win an award - but still - kinda cool.  Especially when you consider how many paintings were entered.

VIEWPOINT ACCEPTANCE

I just received an email that two of my paintings have been selected for the ViewPoint show.

The show will be open to the public September 10-25, Monday - Friday from 9-5 at Art Design Consultants, 310 Culvert Street, 5th Floor, Cincinnati, Ohio with the opening reception and awards on September 13 from 5-8,

I'll be curious to see the show this year, since this is a new and unique venue.  Click to find out more about Art Design Consultants.

This fall I'll be giving a workshop painting silver and lace, and this is the photo I chose for that painting.

I know - you are now thinking "What - is she nuts???  I can't paint that!!!"

But - YES YOU CAN!

Here is the drawing which I painted from - full sheet watercolor.

The workshop will feature this painting, but in a half sheet size and not quite as much detail - see - I told you - you will be able to do this!
