ROSES - 2

The coral rose has the most layers, beginning with some Quin. gold. I added Quin. coral, Quin. rose and then played with adding them as needed. I believe I used some indanthrone blue in the shadows.

Trains, teapots, ornaments, jars, and now roses. I don't believe you've met a subject yet that you can't paint beautifully.

This is lovely. The colours and transitions are beautiful.

Getting over my fear of painting flowers has to be on my to do list for 2011!

Deb and Rhonda - glad you like the petals!
Teresa - layers - you betcha! That's the key! I like white backgrounds sometimes - especially for these roses since they take center stage!
Lisa - while I sincerely appreciate your comment - you ain't seen me do none a them pesky landscapes now, have ya! (i.e. I cannot paint landscapes - or portraits) so that's 2 subjects I cannot paint!! (but who's counting!!)
Jeanette - flowers are easy and fun - no fear there! You can do it!
