HYDRANGEA - 4

Finally, more darks to the background.
Not great, certainly not frame-worthy! But probably a do-over in the future because I really like the idea; just didn’t get down on paper what’s in my head!

Gorgeous, that darker background makes the flowers stand out more now and I like the cropping you've done, not frame worthy? bah, it is!

Beautiful petals and the colors of the violets and greens are so yummy - gorgeous colors playing off each other.

Teresa, Christiane and Rhonda - As usual, you guys are way too kind (but it doesn't look as bad on the "small screen".

The stems just seem to pop....makes it appear almost
3-d. Beautiful.

Deb, it just hurt to hear that this is not frame worthy because there is something so intriguing about this painting. I do hope that you are able to paint it in such a way that you will be proud to frame it because it is a jewel.

I think you're being to hard on yourself. It's beautiful, and sometimes the ones that we are the least happy with sell first. Definitely not a do-over:)

Gretchen - I actually do like the stems!!
Vicki - I will probably try it again some time.
Carrie - maybe a bit hard, but it just didn't turn out the way I planned!

Not frameworthy??? Humph. I'm normally not a florals kind of gal, but I would certainly frame this and hang it. It's an interesting technique, and you did a great job being consistent with the petal colors. It may not be what's in your mind's eye, but it's beautiful work nonetheless.

Lisa - it was rather zen-like to paint those petals (my favorite part of the whole process). Glad you like it.
