WEDDING DAY

After an “almost wedding” in October, my daughter and her fiancé finally tied the knot on New Year’s Eve!

It was a small ceremony, family only, at their place (as my daughter said “no big deal”). Everyone pitched in to help in some way so we had flowers, appetizers, Champagne and a cake, cupcakes and brownies (courtesy of me).

I’m “famouns” for always crying at weddings and funerals, whether real or on TV or film. Don’t know why; I just get emotional. Sometimes I think I could rent myself out to attend these affairs and make lots of money posing as either a crazy old aunt at a wedding or a grief stricken family member at a funeral.

But – amazingly – I didn’t cry! Well, just a couple of tears, but that’s it. Guess it was just a happy occasion!

Anyway - - - the bride was lovely and the groom quite handsome.

They are planning on taking a vacation out west later this year as their honeymoon, and probably having some kind of party to celebrate, once the weather gets nicer.

It wasn’t quite what I had envisioned when she was born and I daydreamed about this day – but they are made for each other and I love them both and if they are happy, then so am I!

Deb,we are living parallel lives! My oldest son and his fiance have been engaged for four years, together all that time, but just never decided to do it. Well, Saturday afternoon our son told us they were going to get married at City Hall on New Year's Eve...just like that! They did have a nice civil ceremony, they looked fabulous and we all went back to our homes; we will have a celebration later.

They sure don't do things like we did, huh?

Thanks Carrie! (But you don't know the bride - LOL!)
Ginny - she will love it when I tell her what you said - millions will celebrate her once a year - you just made her day!
Thank you Vicki and Arti!
Susan - how funny! We must be joined the hip! Congrats then, to you too, and your whole family.
