The second batik workshop was this past weekend and I did remember my camera! I even remembered to take a few photos!
Here are some of the ladies diligently working on their masterpieces.
I set up in my living room for painting, and we had just enough room.
Here they are waxing in the dining room. Drying took place in the laundry room and ironing in the kitchen! It's a process, that's for sure!
Here are some of the paintings in progress below. The bird's nest is taken from a magazine photo and Diane added the branches. (These are all for both educational and personal use, so that is not a problem).

I forgot to get photos of all of the paintings before they left for the day, but overall I think they all were happy with their completed paintings - they left with smiles on their faces!

It looks like we are working so hard in those pictures! I guess we were, but it was MUCH more fun than work. And what a spot to paint! At your "spa," we could look out at the lake as we painted and be inspired. Thanks, Deb, for the BEST time and such great instruction!.......Diane
Looks like some great artwork was created, Deb. Hope you did one or two yourself, too :)
Batik is a very popular art form in India but what you did at workshop was something else!Great art pieces.I can caertainly see that you enjyoed it a lot!:)

Rhonda - just one first day - way too busy the 2nd day! But I'm planning on one or two after the workshops while it's fresh in my mind.
Arti - everyone had fun and learned something - can't ask for more than that!
Everyone did leave with a smile on their face. We had a great time, such a learning experence.

I will see you at the meeting on Wednesday. I have to leave around 11:40 because I am getting a private tour at the Taft. My boss is a docent there and has offered to give me and a some friends a tour. Would you like to join us? We are beginning with lunch there then the tour. We are going to move from room to room casually. We get to choose as much as we want to learn as we go along. Think about it and you can let me know Wednesday. See you soon.

Oh how I would love to attend one of your workshops - I absolutely am in love with the batik look, and want to learn this technique!! Any chance you'd come out to Connecticut to teach?!!
