BLUE PITCHER AND PEARS ON LACE - PART 4

That pitcher was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO blue - had to “dumb down” the blue and darken the shadow side – and hoped I didn’t ruin it.
I also began the background – my “nebulous” background, as I call all/most of my backgrounds.

Nancy - thanks - compliments are always welcome!

No, you didn't ruin it at all...just added a bit more depth and shape. Don't worry about the nebulous bg - we don't need anything there but a resting place around the main objects/stars.

Boy, I need a lesson in fluid acrylics.
I can't believe how to got those pears to look so juicy and delicious!
And what blue DID you use?

Ginny - stop on by and I'll give you a lesson!!! I started with cobalt, maybe french ultramarine? and who knows what else??

Deb - Don't want to quibble, but are you sure this pitcher is Fiesta ware? It looks like a Hall ball pitcher, also a favorite vintage piece. I know folks who collect only ball pitchers, as they came in many colors.

Not that it matters, of course. I don't want you to move the pitcher right now (!), but when the painting is done maybe you could tell me what markings are on the bottom. Hall or Fiesta, either way, this is a dynamite painting!

Kathy - just circles in circles on the bottom - my mom always called it Fiestaware - which is it???? Thanks!

I have to agree with Kathy. I have a lot of Hall pitchers because I love the shape and intense colors and this looks suspiciously like their style. But there were a lot of takes on this basic shape, so anything's possible.
