CORNY 3

Here are more photos of this painting in progress.

My husband told me to add more yellows in the corner. After this stage he said “I see you added more yellow in that corner, looks more like corn now.”
Well, guess what – I did NOT add yellow! After more of the painting was completed it simply affected the way the rest of the painting looked.
I think this is one of the hardest things to realize – that everything you do affects the rest of the painting and you just have to BE PATIENT to see how it all works out!

Coming along beautifully. I can see you have put in a lot of thought and work into this piece.

Deb, I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am with this piece. Can you please post a picture of yourself to show that you are not crossed-eyed and bald by now.

Very intricate and very beautiful already. I love how you are using negative painting to create depth. I can't wait to see the rest.

Oh my goodness ... I'm lost looking at this, I could never paint it. This is turning out beautiful. It is amazing when you think about how temperature and colors change by whats next to them. Love that, but, I only occasionally think about it when I'm painting. This is really going to be a show stopper Deb.

OMG, Deb, can you come over here and teach me how to be this patient with the paint and shapes and values and...everything?? Looking great! I love that you "tricked" him about the yellow - I did that once to Janet Rogers in a painting workshop. She loves Skips Green and always used it. She wasn't too thrilled with a portrait I was working on (although she was too kind to say). When she came back around, she loved it - what had I done? Just added a touch of Skips Green to a shadow in the face :) hee hee

Gary - yes - maybe too much thought??
Sadia, Nancy, Ginny - thanks!
Vicki - I would post that pix, but would probably break my camera! Not cross-eyed, but maybe bald???
Ann, thanks - it's a slow process!
Christianne - lots of negative - I used to be afraid of that - what can I say - "conquer your fear!!!"
Nancy - gee, I never got lost, got lost, got lost . . . just stuck a few times!!!
Rhonda - I would come there, but as you know, cannot relocate you with GPS, satellite imagery or map! You better come here!! That is an interesting story about Janet!
Here's hoping I don't completely ruin this. And, I think it looks better on the "small screen" than in person!!!
