WATERCOLOR BATIK - CORN

A few weeks ago I did some watercolor batiks again.  I don't do it too often since it's a messy process - but it is fun.
Even though you have planned it out, you never really know what you have until the wax is off and you see it clearly for the first time.  A friend says it's like opening a Christmas package - and discovering what's inside!
This is w/c 1/4 sheet size.

I like the unusual colors in these ears - they are like candy corn :)

I absolutely looooove these batiks. I enjoyed and scrutinized your flag demo post from last year, and really want to try this technique, it's right up my stylistic alley. You need to have another workshop, Deb!

Such beautiful colors! I love that batik look. Last fall, I went out and bought the paper, the wax, a small electric frying pan to try this technique...and I still have not tried it :-(
Well done, Deb, and thank you for sharing with us.

Oh Deb, I love your batiks and I am glad that you have done another one. You are right, it is sort of like Christmas when the wax is ironed off. I like the colors in this one.

Thanks guys!
Rhonda - photo seems more blue than in person.
Lisa - hope you can do it!
Christiane - you gotta try it! Messy but fun.
Vicki - yours are to die for - these are just "quick and dirty"!
